Johanna H.

So there’s an interesting story to how these photos came about. It all stem from a meeting of creatives who were accompanying a friend who was purchasing a brand new camera system. While exploring that particular camera store I found my holy grail…a box full of beat up used vintage lenses. After about 30-45 minutes of absolutely silence while testing different camera mounts and adapters, focal lengths and aperture settings, lens brands and filters…I found a gem. The Vivitar 70-210mm f/2.8 Macro. This lens is so much fun, it’s heavy as all hell but fast, it’s sharp and pair really well with my Fujifilm X-H1. I then asked one of my beautiful friends Johanna (pictures below), to step outside with me for no more than 10 minutes and we captured these 3 images. I’m in love with the textures and bokeh that this lens produces and honestly Johanna looks cool as hell without even trying.

p.s. this lens was only $25!

Carli

Hey folks, this is Carli. She’s an amazing talent with a wonderful spirit. On this day she was having a rough afternoon at work and needed to be around some people who got her mind off of her job. She made a spur of the moment decision to take some shots at random locations around Bed-Stuy Brooklyn. After these photos I’m really excited for what we will be able to create soon (wink wink).

Christina S.

Ok so this is Christina, she probably curses louder and more aggressively than anyone i’ve ever met in my life. She’s rude, she ridiculous but she has an amazing heart and is an absolutely wonderful person. We shot this on whim one day as she was on her way home from a meeting and I must say she smoked these shots. Absolutely beautiful.

Julissa V.

You know when you’re an artist there are certain obstacles that you have to work through when trying to pull together an idea. In the middle of my photoshoot a super strong gust of wind swoops by and drops my lighting equipment, tragic to say the least. However, I was lucky to see that there was no damage to the actual light but that the diffuser took the brunt of the damage (R.I.P.). Instead of complaining about my idea that I had in my head I proceeded to move forward with the shoot and honestly it came out great. My model for the day Julissa was amazing and we got some solid shots in even if the lighting was not always consistent.
